In the following activities, you will use your knowledge and understanding gathered in the previous tasks to think of significant Australian individuals and events you have studied or heard about.
Consider significant people in Australia's history from 1788 through to 1960 who could qualify as nominees for the Australian of the Universe Award. Use the criteria and qualities you have discovered in the previous task to encourage your thinking. |
The quote on the right is taken from an article published online for The Australian by journalist Billy Rule. He attempted to select the 50 top Australians of all time. The majority of his nominations are post-1960. However, you are welcome to read the article by clicking on the picture below.
